Dr. Jin Au Kong
Dr. J. A. Kong is the President of The Electromagnetics Academy (EM-Academy),
and a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, where he is also the Chairman
of Area IV on Energy and Electromagnetic Systems and the Director of Center
for Electromagnetic Theory and Applications in the Research Laboratory of
Electronics (RLE). He has published over 30 books including Electromagnetic
Wave Theory (Wiley Interscience, 1975, 1986, 1990; EMW Publishing since
1998, latest edition: 1007 pages published June 2000), and over 600 refereed
journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers. He has been principal
investigator for more than 100 grants and contracts from various government
agencies and industry. He has served as consultant, external examiner, and
advisor to industry, academia, national governments, and the United Nations.
He has been reviewer for many journals, book companies, and government agencies,
and served as session chairman, organizer, member of advisory committees
and technical program committees for numerous international and national
conferences and symposia, including serving as Chairman for the Progress
In Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS) since 1989. He is Editor
for the Wiley Series in Remote Sensing, Editor-in-Chief for the Journal
of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications(JEMWA), and Chief Editor for the
book series Progress In Electromagnetics Research (PIER). He is the recipient
of the S. T. Li Prize for year 2000, and the Distinguished Achievement Award
from the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society for year 2000.
Mr. Ray Stata
Mr. Stata was one of the founders of Analog Devices in 1965. Mr. Stata
served as Chairman and CEO until 1996 and now continues in an active role
as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Stata was founder and first President of
Massachusetts High Technology Council. He was also a founder of Center
for Quality Management in 1989 and currently serves as its Chairman. Mr.
Stata holds BS and MS degrees from MIT Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science and is Chairman of the Visiting Committee of the department. He
is also a member of the Executive Committee of the MIT Corporation.
Mr. Phillip Duff
Mr. Duff joined Morgan Stanley in 1984 as a mergers and acquisitions banker
in the Investment Banking Division and headed the firm's Financial Institutions
Group from 1989-1993. Mr. Duff became Chief Financial Officer of Morgan
Stanley in 1994 and served on the firm's Management Committee. As CFO,
Mr. Duff played a leading role in developing the firm's strategy and in
executing a number of strategic acquisitions and mergers including Miller
Anderson & Sherrard, Van Kampen American Capital, and Dean Witter,
Discover & Co. In 1997, he became President and CEO of Van Kampen
American Capital, a $70 billion mutual fund company acquired by Morgan
Stanley. Mr, Duff served as Chief Operating Officer of Tiger Management
L.L.C., an investment management firm in the hedge fund sector and was
a member of Tiger's Management Committee and Advisory Board. Mr. Duff
is currently CEO of Front Point Partners, a highly specialized investment
management firm. Mr. Duff graduated from Harvard College with an A.B.
degree in Mathematics and MIT Sloan School of Management with S.M. in
Management. He serves on the standing Committee on Undergraduate Education
at Harvard University.
Dr. Li Jin
Dr. Li Jin joined MIT as a PH.D. candidate in Finance. There he studied
finance under 1997 Nobel Prize Laureate Bob Merton and the well known
finance professor Andy Low. During his five years of Ph.D. research, Dr.
Jin did outstanding research work in finance and financial modeling. He
received Lehman Brothers Research Merit Award. After graduation, Dr. Jin
joined Harvard Business School as an Assistant Professor of Finance.
Mr. Jack M. Cooper
Jack M. Cooper was CIO of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (BMS) where he
was also member of CEO's Strategic Issues Committee, member of CFO's Finance
Executive Committee, and Chairman of the Information Management Executive
Committee. At BMS, he managed the company's information services group
which has 1,500 employees and $750 million spending in year 2000. The
group provides BMS IT services on a worldwide basis. He also helped develop
IT investment strategies company wide and specifically in the R&D
division. He implemented systems enabling five company-wide productivity
initiatives generating over $3.38 billion in savings. Before BMS, Jack
was CIO of the Seagram Company. Before Seagram, he served as President
and CEO of CSX Technology, a company with 1,200 employees and $217 million
in revenue. Mr. Cooper is a member of Editorial Board of Computer World.
He is also a member of board or advisory board of various companies and
universities.
